The former Mauritanian president Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi has failed completely during the last 15 months to live up to any of his commitment before his election.
He undoubtedly lets down all the Mauritanians. For example take the example of Tintane project. During the aftermath of the 2007 Tintane flooding which’s caused a huge damage to that town and its inhabitants, our country "Mauritania" received a lot of supports and aides from all the riches and powerful countries. I even still remember that check of $ 20 Millions donated by the Kingdom OF The Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to our country’s then leader Mr Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi. In front of the medias The former president pledged to build a new and safe town far from the flooding bed, and allow the people of Tintane, who have lost everything, to have a new and a happy life.
He appointed a manager and many employees for the job, and what look amazing for me and all the Mauritanians is the fact that one year later the people of Tintane still live under the same tents donated by international relief organization, and no sign of the government intervention is seen around.
The question is where did the $20 Millions donated by the Saudian go? And how can a president appoints and pays people without giving them any work? That shows a little example of how he really worked hard in order to squander all our resources. That’s why I say and I repeat again, the Mauritanian coup of August the 6th 2008 was the best solution.
